Shipping & fulfillment

UPS and FedEx average all zones (2–8). WFS includes fulfillment, estimated inbound, and one month of storage. ITS applies only to eligible items; larger supported items use direct inbound based on Zone 6.

How retail is calculated

Vanity retail uses dollar endings 3, 4, 8, or 9: .99 below $50 and .00 from $50 upward. It rounds down only when the difference is less than 15 cents; otherwise it rounds up. Exactly 15 cents rounds up. Calculated retail remains the basis of the cost breakdown.

Retail = (Cost + Shipping & Fulfillment) ÷ (1 − Commission % − Advertising %)

Cost means Landed + Margin. Landed = Materials + Duty + Freight. Margin is already built into Cost; this calculator does not add another margin. Commission is the Walmart fee for selling on its platform, using a standard 15% assumption that you can adjust.

Retail is rounded up to the next cent. WFS's $1 fee for retail below $10 is included when applicable. At the fee boundary, $10 may be the lowest retail that covers costs.

Carrier prices are published residential estimates averaged across zones 2–8. WFS includes fulfillment and 30 days of storage. ITS-eligible items add ITS plus 25% of a UPS commercial quote to the planning facility. Larger supported items use no ITS and 25% of the average of three Zone 6 commercial quotes for direct inbound. This is a planning allowance, not a pallet freight quote. Freight included in Cost and inbound to Walmart are separate legs; avoid counting the Walmart leg twice.

Use final parcel measurements for UPS/FedEx and the item's own packaging for WFS; recalculate if these differ. Unlisted expenses such as returns, taxes, and overhead are not added.
